The Meetings of the Secretariat

1.  Rome, Italy, 2-4 December 2004

During the meeting we used a lot of time for personal introductions and sharing our views on the situation in Redemptorist formation in the six major Regions of the Congregation.

The discussion focused on the following topics:

·  The mission of the Secretariat

·  The Goals and tasks for the 2003-2009 sexennium

·  The role of the Secretariat in the Regions of the Congregation

·  Institute of Redemptorist Life

·  Tool for the evaluation of the Provincial Rationes Formationis

2.  Kraków, Poland, 24-27 May 2005

Fr. Jacek Zdrzałek, who was the Prefect of our Postulancy in Kraków, invited us to his community for this meeting. It is was an interesting experience, as the Warsaw Province (Poland) is one of the few Units in the Congregation, which still has its own seminaries (houses of formation with their own program of studies). The hospitality of the Polish confreres, Fathers, Brothers and postulants was a precious gift for us all.

3.  New Smyrna Beach, FL, USA, 21-24 November 2005

Since most of the members of the Secretariat were in the USA and Canada at the time (general visits, classes, retreats), we decided to meet in New Smyrna Beach, a house of the Vice-Province of Richmond, in Florida. We thank the Vice-Province of Richmond, and especially the members of the New Smyrna Beach Community for their brotherhood, help and inspiration.

4.  Rome, Italy, 30 May – 2 June 2006

The candidate for “Executive Secretary”, Fr. Luis Roballo from the Province of Bogotá, joined our meeting.
