Goals and Tasks
for the sexennium
I. General
objectives regarding the General Government
The
Secretariat, as an auxiliary body to the General
Government of the Congregation is:
·
to assist the General Council
in its task of animating the whole formation
in the Congregation;
·
to study the situation in the
field of formation, especially in the context
of the restructuring of the Congregation;
·
to help in the evaluation and
monitoring of the formation process on all its
levels in various Units of the Congregation;
·
to promote and support the collaboration
between the Units in the field of formation.
II. Particular
tasks of the Secretariat
The tasks of the Secretariat can be described by the following scheme,
covering four areas of interest and activity:
1. Philosophy – vision
1.1. Fresh profile of Redemptorist Formation.
1.2. Formation in and for restructuring.
1.3. Evaluation tool of the state of formation in
(v) Provinces
2. Programs
2.1. Evaluation tool of the state of formation in
(v) Provinces
2.2. Clearer criteria for accepting candidates
2.3. Redemptorist formation when attached to non-Redemptorist
faculties for education, i.e. what is specific
to Redemptorist formation?
2.4. Formation of Brothers (in a dialogue with the
Secretariat for the Brothers)
3. Formators
3.1. Evaluation tool of the state of formation in
(v) Provinces
3.2. Criteria for choosing formators
3.3. Develop modules of formation for formators
3.4. Develop resources for formators, e.g. guide (handbook)
4. Collaboration
4.1. The role of the General Secretariat with the
(v)provincial secretariats
and inter-provincial structures and promotion
of greater collaboration
4.2. Formation in and for restructuring
4.3. Investigation of resources (personnel/finances)
4.4. Formation for the collaboration with the laity
Additionally, following the decisions and orientations of the XXIII General
Chapter, the Secretariat will take interest
