Fr. Nelson Santos is a member of my community. We as a community felt honoured that his services had been requested into a non-christian milieu. He was allowed to work as Principal of a School in a remote part of Maharashtra in Western India for the past two years. In a fervent plea to our Provincial in India to renew his contract for another two years, the Secretary and CEO of the Mahatma Education Society School in a letter Dated 14th April 2008 , has this to say:" Fr. Nelson joined our School as Principal on June 1st 2006, when we just received orders from the government of India to dismantle the School. We are proud to inform you that Fr. Nelson managed to re-engineer the school from scratch to the international level over a period of two years. During the tenure of his service we found him very creative and used his skills to introduce various co-curricular activities in the school. It is wonderful to see how a Catholic Priest has been accepted in a school that has majority of non-Christians." sd/- Dr. K.M. Vasudevan Pillai. Chembur Mumbei .India - this message sent in by Fr. Xavier Pinto, C.Ss.R. |
